STORIES OF FAMILY | October
Here’s a much belated glimpse into our October!
Abandoning the morning chaos of peanut butter waffles and toilet shenanigans (often starring an unnamed semi-naked three year old at the moment we need to walk out the door for school), Brian rides off on his bike with a flourish. While we are sad to see him go after three months home, we are excited that he is gainfully employed before reaching the age of 40. Also, we blinked and now fall is here.
Discovered green tomatoes. Loves green tomatoes. Tries to stuff green tomatoes in his mouth whenever my back is turned. Utterly unfazed by choking hazard.
Last week we bought a house. We are equal parts excited, unsettled, and grieving our current house. Now the frantic scramble to get our house market-ready begins. Both boys were especially enchanted with our painter and Robo has made it known that he would like to be a painter for Halloween next year.
Even though they are desperately needed, naps are few and far between these days. So this stubborn little dude is, without fail, an emotional disaster by the end of the day. To be fair, we are all a little undone by so many changes. And, if we’re honest, we are also undone by a cranky three year old.
After Aunt Jennie’s visit in August when she and Robo built a cardboard rocket ship, Robo insisted that he wanted to be an astronaut for Halloween. He really liked the candy, but stoutly refused any more trick or treating after we went to a “kary house.” His response: “I never, ever, EVER want to go to that kary house again!” Caption for this frame: Astronaut consults space manifest. Space dog waits eagerly for launch instructions.
All of the fields were successfully validated!
