DAY IN THE LIFE | The Mager Family

Jessica and Kris waited a long time for a child.

When they couldn’t have a biological child, they pinned hopes to an international adoption.  But then, after lots of waiting, three different countries closed to new adoptions.

So they warmed to the idea of an open domestic adoption and began working with a local agency.  On a whim, they also applied to a small agency out of Kansas run by Catholic nuns.  Within a matter of months they had a match and then their son was born less than two months later.

Jessica describes driving down to Kansas to meet their infant son and getting word that he had been born.  Immediately she burst into tears of joy.  They had to pull over.

This little guy is so immensely loved, in the most thoughtful, careful, sweet way.  Not only is he surrounded by the love of Jessica, Kris and their families and friends, but also an entire birth family in Kansas, too.

And now this little family is waiting to matched with a second child.  I know the wait isn’t easy, but what a lucky baby it will be!

If you’re interested in learning more about documenting your everyday, I’d love to hear from you!
